In Praise of Boxes
A common description for design is that it is 'outside the box'. Poor box! To be unfairly cast as the benchmark for mediocrity!
A box is not the best container for every object, but nearly every object can be stored in one. What is more efficient than a box? What has more potential for simple elegance, material economy, or facade experimentation?
To think about the box can be just as exhilarating as thinking outside the box.
